Make Yourself Visible In the Dark with Reflectors

Bicycle Reflectors and Spoke Reflectors

Bicycle Reflectors:
Many people ride bicycles on the road during day and night. Most cyclists are not bothered to fix reflectors on their bicycles even if they are riding at night hours. Bicycle reflectors are used to make your bicycle more visible particularly in early morning hours and at late night hours. To ensure safety of the cyclists, it is important that you fix reflectors on your bicycle. A reflector is helpful for the drivers of other automobiles coming from behind. Bicycle reflectors definitely attract the attention of drivers towards the cyclists and thereby avoid any unforeseen accidents. If you are a regular or occasional night rider then you must fix bicycle reflectors on your bicycles.

Bicycle Wheel Reflectors:
If you need increased visibility from traffic approaching you from sides, bicycle wheel reflectors are the ones to be used. These reflectors attach easily to your rims. To comply with road safety requirements, reflectors should be attached on the wheels. Bicycle reflectors send light back from the direction it came from. This property makes a reflector appear unnaturally bright to an observer who is in the same direction as the light source. Wheel reflectors are fixed on the front and back sides of the wheel. Dirty or scratched reflectors don’t work properly so it is important that you always keep them clean.

Spoke Reflectors:
Spoke reflectors ensure that you are seen when riding at night or where there is a poor light condition. You can easily fit spoke reflectors to your bicycle’s spokes. These spoke reflectors are very light weight so you don’t have to be concerned about the rotating weight. It increases the visibility of your bicycle from all angles. The spoke reflectors look very pretty when they are spinning. It makes your wheel illuminated while you ride thus giving you more visibility to other drivers.

Bike Reflectors:
One of the easiest ways to keep yourself safe is to use bicycle reflectors which alert the drivers of your presence on the road. If you are not using bike reflectors on your bike, you are actually breaking traffic rule. The rules lay down in the Road Vehicles Lighting Regulations clearly states that you must use bike reflectors at rear end of the bike to make your vehicle visible particularly at night. By installing reflectors, you are allowing other people to see you, making your riding safer especially in single lane unlit roads.
